Dr. Shelsea Winkler received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine in 2011, where she was involved in an ophthalmology research lab studying the human cornea.
She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 2016, graduating with honors. Her externship sites focused on specialty contact lenses and ocular disease- including Fresno VA and Codman Square Health Center in Boston.
Her special interests include contact lenses (specifically astigmatism and multifocal lenses) and managing irregular corneas, such as keratoconus, as both her brother and husband were diagnosed as teenagers.
Dr. Winkler practiced in Orange County for 7 years until moving to Hollister with her family and joining the Spectrum Eye family. She is also a mom of 3: one girl and twin boys. Her and her husband love to travel.
